The Effect of Whatsapp Media on Early Children's Cognitive Achievements

The situation of the pandemic Covid-19 has given birth to a draft of the learning process with a system of online learning, which requires everyone to adapt so that outputs are still produced in accordance with the design of the learning as written in the learning implementation plan. No exception in the level of early childhood, this paper describes the effect of using Whatsapp on the achievements of the cognitive early childhood. The sample of the research is Ilyasa Nurul Qomar kindergarten in the City of Purwakarta. By using qualitative descriptive type of research through a phenomenological approach, data obtained from the results of observations and interviews with school principals, teachers, parents, and other elements that are related in it. The cognitive percentage of children reached 78, 95% of the 38 students studied became passive, less creative and productive, boredom occurred in learning and made students stressed and the rest, namely 21.05% of students, even if they could adapt to learning media but they still lacked can concentrate during the learning process. It proves that the use of whatsapp in online learning on the early childhood becomes ineffective and efficient which in the end the cognitive achievement of students is not accordance with the learning objectives as stated in the learning implementation plan.
