Disruption era has hit all aspects of life, including Islamic Boarding Schools (pesantren), and it demands a response from pesantren in order to survive in the midst of change. This paper discusses the era of disruption and its influence on pesantren in general, and examines the response of the Bina Insan Mulia Islamic Boarding School to the era of disruption and the implications it produces. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with field research and case study category. The results of this study conclude: The era of disruption affects pesantren starting from changes in the generation of santri, changes in society, perceptions of Islamic scholars who are also founders of pesantren (Kyai) figure, and regeneration of pesantren leadership. The era of disruption was responded to by the Bina Insan Mulia Islamic boarding school with various strategic policies, such as: maximize the existence of social media, modify the curriculum, create learning clusters, create Game Development Centers (GDC), carry out institutional transformation, regenerate kyai and transform students. The implications of this response are the rapid development of pesantren, enriching the typology of pesantren, presenting more complete pesantren facilities, reducing formal school subjects, expanding international networks, and giving leeway for students to fill their holidays with various activities outside the pesantren.
