Afzalur Rahman's Thinking Concept: Relevance with Worker Ethics According to Global Standards

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the relevance of Afzalur Rahman's concept of thought to labor ethics according to global standards where the concept of Afzalur Rahman's thinking in the labor and wage system is widely used as a reference for Muslim entrepreneurs around the world, because Afzalur Rahman places a global code of ethics and work standards as part of their rights and obligations that must be carried out by both workers and employers. This study uses a qualitative historical research method, and the data is collected through studies of literature and related documentation. Based on the results and discussion of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the concept of employment in Afzalurrahman's thought which explains that there are four labor principles in Islam that abolish slavery in the world of work, the four principles include the principle of freedom of work, the principle of work honor, the principle of justice and anti-discrimination, and the suitability of workers' wages. In addition, the relationship between employers and employees must also be well established because both have rights and obligations that must be fulfilled together based on labor ethics according to global standards in order to produce ethical decisions at every level of human resource management.
