In the learning process, the expected learning outcomes can be achieved by students and it is important for teachers to know so they can plan teaching and learning activities appropriately. The research aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning learning model on student learning outcomes in the mathematics subject matter of fractions. This type of research uses a quasi experiment with a Nonequivalent Control Group research design. The research subjects totaled 42 students in one of the Public Elementary Schools of West Bandung Regency. The research instrument uses observation sheets of learning implementation and essay test questions. The implementation of teacher and student activities in the experimental class as a whole achieved very good criteria at each meeting. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is an influence on student learning outcomes in the experimental class using the Problem Based Learning model. The results of the calculation of the effect size test obtained a value of 1.97 with a strong (large) interpretation. Thus, the Problem Based Learning model has a strong (large) influence on student learning outcomes. The results of the study indicated that there was an influence on student learning outcomes in the experimental class using the Problem Based Learning model. This can be seen in the differences in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class, where student learning outcomes in the experimental class are better than the control class.
